It was a pleasure to facilitate a teacher professional development session for you today. We covered digital collections, teaching materials, instructional concepts, and had many lively discussions regarding primary sources in the classroom. I hope that each of you were able to come out of the training with new insights, useful teaching techniques, and a world of new resources at your disposal.

After presenting your API in the final workshop session, please verify that you have done the following:

1. Filled out your ACT48 form and turned it in.
2. Submitted a final copy of your API by email (to roberts_n@calu.edu).
3. Taken the national LOC survey. Here is the link for the national survey. (Note that this is a single workshop, in the 15-19 hour category, and in Congressional District PA12.)
4. Left final reflective comments (1 to 2 paragraphs) about the workshop. They can be on the overall benefits, strategies, use of oral history, use of inquiry model, primary source learning, etc.  (Submit your post as a comment to this blog post.)

Please update us on the progress made toward your API. Specifically, we need information on the following 3 items:

(1) PA Teaching Standards: What do you intend to use on the API. Don’t forget to use the PDE SAS site.
(2) Inquiry-Based Learnng Model: What model are you using and why (brief description)?
(3) Assessment: How do you intend to assess student learning quantatatively? Remember that this needs to relate to the oral history component of your API.

Also, if there are any changes to your last post–regarding API topic, LOC primary source, or the oral history activity–please indicate that as well.
